4 Week Update

Hey Everyone! It's officially been 4 weeks (of 7) of our "Paleo Challenge"

For those of you who are just joining in, in a nutshell, this means that my boyfriend Jared and I are just eating Meats, veggies, some fruits, and some nuts! We are skipping pretty much all processed foods including breads, alcohol, pastas, pop, chips, crackers, cookies, cakes, processed sauces,  ice cream, milk, cheese (me moreso than Jared with the cheese) etc.

Guess how much weight Jared had lost??!

 

So Far, Jared has lost 23 pounds! I knew it was easy for many guys to drop weight, but geez. I am very proud of him. He has been a trooper and it is so much easier for me to do this when someone by my side doing it with me! I on the other hand have lost 6, but I did get to wear my "skinny pants" to work last week!  I still feel like I'm looking at it like more of a lifestyle change, and he is counting down the days until the end of the 7 weeks, so we'll see what happens!

Our Paleo Day at the Ball Game

So isn't this shirt funny? A guy a few rows in front of us at the cubs game today was wearing it. In case you can't read it, it says "there are no two finer words in the English language than "encased meats" my friends". I thought it was somewhat appropriate since I keep telling you all that its okay to eat meat. Encased meats tend to be some of the shadier meats in my opinion, and its sometimes hard to tell exactly what they consist of so they aren't my first choice. I still thought the shirt was funny, and I do eat encased meat from time to time.

On another note, did you know that you can bring your own food into Wrigley Field?? I remember my family doing this when I was little, but I thought they changed the rules. I was wrong! Since we knew there woudln't be much we would like to eat during the game, Jared and I packed a small cooler with raw almonds, some beef jerky without crazy ingredients, and water bottles (that you can refill in the drinking fountain!) It was super easy, and WAY cheaper than buying overpriced ballpark food. If we didn't bring anything, we probably would have gone for some of that encased meat... without the bun.
